SEASONS - STILL COUNTING THE DAYS AND STILL SHARING OUR SONGS

God has this way of bringing to mind the things He wants us to know in the season that He has ordained.  I stumbled across this beautiful Chris Rice song again.  It so perfectly explains why we have been commanded to count the omer from Passover till Pentecost.  I wanted to share it with you.

As commanded in Leviticus; I count with the original Hebrew dates passed down through the ages, so we do not think today is Pentecost at our house.  Pentecost was originally Shavuot, the day the Torah and The Law were given to Moses.  God chose to show us the mercy side of this great day when He later fulfilled it with Pentecost, the day that God's Spirit came to live within His people.  It is full of love and mercy and love overcomes all law.  It doesn't do away with law, but fulfills it.  We see this in our Savior Jesus Christ and we will be celebrating Pentecost at sunset on June 11, in 2016 on the same day as Shavuot of the Jewish people - the shadow of our Pentecost.  God set the dates - not mankind!  I'm choosing to stay with His original calendar, because I suspect He will be going by it when he returns.  At our house we are still counting the days!  This song reminds me of the sacredness of each moment in life and how God has shown us the secret of loving each other at all times.  So thankful for those that God has put into my days.  Each person holds a very special place in my heart and I have treasured the memories of each second we have shared.

Remember "Life is a gift!"

The words below are not my words, they are the words to the song written by Chris Rice titled "Life Means So Much."  I just wanted to illustrate the words as best I could with the gifts that God has granted in my own life.  I hope you enjoy them.

Every day is a journal page, every man holds a quill and ink.  And there's plenty of room for writing in  all we do, believe and think, so will you compose a curse, or will today bring the blessing?

Fill the page with rhyming verse, or some random sketching? Teach us to count our days.
Teach us to make our days count.

Lead us in better ways, that somehow our souls forgot.  Life means so much.
Life means so much.  Life means so much.
Everyday is a bank account and time is our currency.
So nobody's rich, nobody's poor.
We get twenty four hours each.
So how are you gonna spend?
Will you invest or squander,
try to get ahead,
or help someone who's under?

Teach us to count our days.  Teach us to make the days count.  Lead us in better ways, that somehow our souls forgot.

Life means so much.
Life means so much.

Life means so much

Has anybody ever lived who knew the value of a life; and
don't you think His giving is all what proves the worth of yours and mine?

Teach us to count the days

Teach us to make the days count.

Lead us in better ways, that somehow our souls forgot

  Life means so much.

 Life means so much.

Life means so much.
Every day is a gift you've been given.
Make the most of the time every minute you're living.
